Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Elsy mobile app (“Elsy”, “the app”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information. Elsy is operated by Matthias Verbaert (individual developer), based in Belgium (European Union). If you have any questions, contact us at gameswarfare@hotmail.com.

1. Information we collect

We only collect what we need to run Elsy:

Account information. When you create an account we store your email address (or, if you use “Sign in with Apple”, the email or Apple private-relay address Apple provides). You may also create an anonymous account, which has no email.
Profile information. A username and, optionally, a profile photo (avatar) and a short bio that you choose to add.
Content you create. The spaces, collections, items/cards, notes, comments, reactions, and your saved/“want to try”/“completed” markers that you add in the app, plus images you upload.
Subscription status. If you purchase Elsy Plus, we receive your subscription/entitlement status from our payment processors (Apple and RevenueCat). We never receive or store your payment card details — those are handled entirely by Apple.
Usage analytics. Basic in-app events (for example, which features and screens you use) linked to your account, to understand how Elsy is used and improve it. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
Technical data. Standard technical information needed to operate the app, such as device/OS type and app version.

2. How we use your information

To provide and operate Elsy (your account, spaces, collections and content).
To enable sharing within the spaces you create or join.
To process and manage your Elsy Plus subscription.
To maintain security, prevent abuse, and provide support.
To understand usage and improve the app.

3. Legal bases (GDPR)

If you are in the EU/EEA, we process your data on these legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the service you signed up for), legitimate interests (to keep Elsy secure and to improve it), and consent where required (which you can withdraw at any time).

4. How your information is shared

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers that help us run Elsy, acting as our processors:

Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage (hosted in the EU, Ireland). supabase.com/privacy
RevenueCat — subscription management. revenuecat.com/privacy
Apple — App Store payments and “Sign in with Apple”. apple.com/legal/privacy

We may also disclose information if required by law.

5. Where your data is stored

Your account and content are stored on Supabase infrastructure located in the European Union (Ireland). Some processors (e.g. Apple, RevenueCat) may process limited data in other countries under appropriate safeguards.

6. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, spaces you own, collections, items, notes, reactions and related content are permanently deleted. Some records may be retained where required by law (for example, tax records related to purchases held by Apple).

7. Your rights

You can, at any time:

Delete your account and data directly in the app (Profile → Delete account).
Access, correct, or export your data, and object to or restrict certain processing.
Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

8. Children

Elsy is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures (encrypted connections, access controls, and row-level security on our database) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app.
